England’s top house price areas
The top areas of England for property prices have been revealed.
There are more than 2,000 streets in England that are home to properties worth an average £1 million or more, according to research by property website Zoopla.co.uk – with the W8 Kensington area of London coming out top of the rich list.
The Zoopla.co.uk Property Rich List 2010 revealed all the top 10 most expensive property areas were in London, apart from the entry at number 10 of Virginia Water, in Surrey, where houses averaged at £920,000.
As a comparison, those with a Kensington Palace Garden address – the most expensive street in England – averaged £18 million, with an average of £1.5m in the area as a whole – up £134,000 (9.4%) in the last 12 months.
Nick Leeming, Commercial Director of Zoopla.co.uk, said: “The past 12 months has seen house prices in the leading areas of the country rebound at a far faster rate than the average, contributing to a widening of the north/south divide.”
The top 10 places housing the lowest-value properties are in the North – average properties in North East Lincolnshire valued at around £118,000.
Outside of London, expensive areas of the country to live in were identified as: Windsor & Maidenhead (averaging £392,895), South Gloucestershire (£366,651), Surrey (£347,825), West Berkshire (£326,493), and Hertfordshire (£304,166).

Good report. But I am surprised seeing that there is no mention of country side house prices - such as properties in Berkshire and surrounding area.
