ICM today (25 April) signed an agreement with Pakistan’s Technical, Educational and Vocational Training Authority (TEVTA), which will lead to the provision of ICM examinations, assessment and expert technical assistance to TEVTA.

The contract will also involve the certification and provision of TEVTA/ICM qualifications at vocational training institutions across the Punjab province.

The five-year Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed by Dr Alistair Somerville Ford and Nouman Ali Khan in the Mayor’s Parlour, in Christchurch, and marks a groundbreaking partnership between the two organisations.

Dr Alistair Somerville Ford, ICM Chairman, said: “We are delighted to be working with TEVTA and look forward to supporting their Human Resource Development objectives and activities.

“Pakistan is a unique country that I’m familiar with and I think that it has enormous potential. It’s really a question of getting young people trained and developing their status, and I think that ICM can make a contribution to that.”

Nouman Ali Khan, TEVTA General Manager (Academic), said: “This is the first time in technical and vocational education that we have crossed the borders. It is a very good opportunity for students. Both doors are now open for students to go on to higher education or into employment.”
