Mango’s flagship New York store is located in Broadway’s Singer Building.

Mango has opened its first New York flagship store, reaffirming its commitment to expansion Stateside.

The prestigious Spanish company, best known for designing, manufacturing and marketing women’s clothing and accessories, has chosen Broadway’s Singer Building as the location for its new store. The wrought iron and terracotta structure was designed by Ernest Flagg and is famous for being the world’s first skyscraper.

Mango described its new outlet, which has a selling space of 590 square metres distributed on a single floor, as having an “industrial and cinematographic atmosphere.”

To create this atmosphere, the luxury retailer has combined antique furniture with industrial spot lamps and lighting – complemented by open brick walls clad with glass and mirrors. A catwalk displaying mannequins forms a focal point of the store.

Mango currently operates more than 1,000 stores in 89 countries, located on all five continents. It recently made its first entries into China, Italy and Australia; and, in addition to the New York outlet, has operations in San Francisco and Miami.

The company employs around 6,500 staff – 1,650 of which are based at its head office in Palau-Solità i Plegamans, Barcelona.
