Procter & Gamble plans to reduce its environmental impact.
Procter & Gamble (P&G) has announced its commitment to sustainability by detailing its five-year goals.
The company, which produces global brands such as Pampers, Oral-B, Gillette and Olay, aims to improve the company’s environmental profile and social responsibility programmes.
Peter White, P&G’s Global Sustainability Director, explained the commitment: “We have a long heritage as a sustainability leader, and we remain committed to improving consumers’ lives through P&G brands and by contributing to the sustainability of our planet and the communities in which we live and work.”
The company’s aims, over the next five years, include: generating at least $20 billion (£10 billion) in cumulative sales of products with reduced environmental impact; reducing CO2 emissions, energy and water consumption – contributing to a 40% reduction over the decade (2002–2012); and improving its social responsibility programmes.
