Spain’s LTE International suspends flights
Spanish airline LTE International has announced the suspension of all its flights.
Low-cost Spanish airline LTE International has announced today, 17 October, that it is suspending all flights indefinitely because of its financial situation.
According to the medium-sized airline, it has suspended all chartered and scheduled flights because its finances “make it difficult to meet the operational expenses of the next few days”.
In a statement on the airline’s website, the company apologised to its passengers: “After 20 years operating with maximum dedication to our clients it just was not possible to avoid this situation given world events lately.”
The airline works with many major tour operators including Cosmos, Thomas Cook and First Choice. Cosmos, the UK’s largest independent tour operator, is currently working to protect its passengers affected by the flights suspension.
The tour operator stated: “Those already in resorts will be advised by our local staff. In brief, immediate departures are Birmingham/Tenerife/Birmingham, Tenerife/Glasgow & Edinburgh/Tenerife. The huge benefit to all our customers is that, in travelling with a company with ABTA Membership, and ATOL Protection, they can be assured of either alternative arrangements, or a full refund.”
LTE International comprises seven Airbus A320s and is headquartered in Palma de Mallorca.
