Energy customers unhappy with service
Only 52% of energy customers are happy with the service offered by their utilities provider.
Only 52% of energy customers are happy with the service they receive, while more than half would not recommend their energy provider to a friend, according to uSwitch.com.
Price comparison site uSwitch.com has published its latest Customer Satisfaction Report, which surveyed more than 5,000 energy customers.
The report also revealed that only 51% of customers think their supplier is giving them value for money, while 60% believe their provider has not put them on the best deal.
Ann Robinson, Consumer Policy Director at uSwitch.com, said: “Last year’s hefty price increases damaged the public’s perception of energy suppliers. As a result, the industry saw a noticeable drop in satisfaction levels.
“With such clear differences between suppliers there is no excuse for consumers putting up with bad service. If you are not happy that you are on the best deal or getting value for money – speak to your supplier. If you are still unhappy with the service you are getting, then it’s time to look around for a new supplier.”
The report revealed Scottish & Southern Energy to be the best supplier – for the sixth consecutive year; British Gas was named the best improver; E.ON was the second best improver; Scottish Power slipped down the league; while EDF Energy remained steady.
Rated worst for customer satisfaction – for the second year running – was npower, although it has seen an 8% positive increase on last year.
