Yell.com has launched a partnership with online video site, VideoJug. Yell.com has launched a partnership with online video site, VideoJug.

Yell.com has announced a partnership with Videojug to offer videos directly linked to search results.

VideoJug is a specialist producer of short factual videos such as ‘How To guides’, which are freely available online in what the company describes as an “encyclopaedia of life”. So far, the online organisation has produced more than 50,000 such videos since it was launched in 2006.

The link-up with Yell.com will result in thousands of relevant videos becoming immediately available when people search for services through the online directory of two million business listings. For example, a search for plumbers in the London area not only provides a list of contact details, but also video guides such as ‘How to repair a leak’ and ‘How to install a washing machine’.

Nick Haworth, Head of Content for Yell.com, said: “VideoJug is a perfect fit with Yell.com and we’re very excited about this partnership. It provides highly informative, high quality video content for our 10.7 million unique users and is a significant development that sets the tone for our new content strategy.

“Over the coming months we plan to work with publishers, bloggers and local businesses to find content that helps Yell.com users make better, more informed buying decisions.”

VideoJug produces thousands of videos every month from its bases in the UK and US, using expert commentary. Currently, some of its most popular and quirky videos include ‘How to use chopsticks’, ‘Cat behaviour and training’, and ‘How to be lazy around the house and get away with it’.

Rupert Ashe, VideoJug’s Chief Financial Officer, said: “So far this year, we have delivered our rich advice to an audience of over 30 million users on VideoJug, and we are now delighted to be working with Yell to deliver our content on Yell.com, as there is a clear synergy between the objectives of our businesses which is to deliver guidance and support to an audience of information seeking customers.”

The videos will be added to Yell.com over the next few weeks in an effort to enhance users’ experience and also the usefulness of the online directory.
