Operating at the forefront of design and innovation, this company is a leading UK offsite building manufacturer. They have built a pioneering reputation, and their client portfolio includes leading retailers, airports and many NHS Trusts, local authorities and main contractors. An opportunity has arisen for a Business Development Manager to join their team.
As a Business Development Manager you will be responsible for selling the company’s offsite construction system by developing clients and business opportunities in the South West area.
Your focus will be on winning orders from clients and acting as your clients’ primary point of contact from initial enquiry to order award. You will also develop close contacts with clients who have a need for new buildings.
Additionally, you will work with members of the order winning team to ensure proposals and quotations are attractive to the client and are presented professionally.
Your duties will include:
- Working with client design teams
- Attending design review meetings to brief the order winning team members
- Carrying out site visits with site services, distribution and crane company representatives
- Ensuring that drawings and specifications are accurate
To be considered for the role of Business Development Manager you will need:
- Previous B2B sales experience
- A technical background (you must be able to read and understand technical drawings)
- Proven track record of large capital sales to end users and contractors
- An ability to establish contractual and technical risk
You will also need an understanding of large capital project delivery, including of high value projects and project team experience.
As a Business Development Manager, you will be determined and target driven. You will also work well on your own and have excellent negotiation skills.
Although not essential, the ideal candidate will have knowledge of construction MandE systems and a working knowledge of the construction industry.
Additionally, an understanding of commercial contracts (JCT, NEC) and a working knowledge of HTMs and HBNs in the health sector would be beneficial.
