This successful global intelligence business is looking for a Business Development Manager with a real passion for grocery retail.

The Business Development Manager will join a very successful sales team and will have the opportunity to manage existing accounts which include manufacturers, retailers and service providers, along with business development of both existing customers and new customers.

Your main responsibilities will include:
- Achieving revenue growth from existing accounts and new business whilst developing the company’s reputation as the preferred source for information, insight and action in the food and grocery industry.
- Working closely with our research experts to sell total capability and generate leads for larger customised projects.
- Providing the business with a continuous stream of insightful customer feedback, designed to improve existing services, generating ideas for new ones and monitoring competitive activity.
- Being required to spend time on a weekly basis at the offices and travel extensively through the UK, meeting customers at the most senior level to understand their needs and outline appropriate solutions. 

To succeed in the role, you will need proven experience in similar role selling to FMCG suppliers and/or retailers, and will be passionate about this fast-moving and dynamic sector.

Other requirements include:

- A proven track record of exceeding targets with existing accounts, developing profitable new customers and delivering outstanding customer management and engagement.
- Understand the food and grocery industry and have real interest in understanding trends and insight on a national and international level.
- You have the confidence and drive to develop business solutions and the commercial experience to develop long term relationships that lead to profitable growth.
