Contracts Manager, Leicester
£30,000 to £34,000 per annum
A leading distribution services organisation based in the Leicester area is looking to recruit an experienced Contracts Manager to oversee the on-site contract based at the Leicester distribution centre. You will report directly into the Operations Director and hold management responsibility for 2 Senior Team Leaders with 45 indirect reports.
The successful candidate will have a proven background in the logistics industry and be an exceptional manager who can drive an operation forward and deliver to expected targets. You will be a commercially minded character with solid people management abilities who is comfortable at working within a "hands on" environment where delivering as a team is pivotal to the contracts success.
The ideal candidate must also possess excellent customer facing skills as you will be required to report contract performance to senior management as well as acting as customer liaison.
Core responsibilities of this role include: -
- Overseeing the entire Leicester contract with management responsibility for 2 direct and 45 indirect reports.
- Reporting on contract performance to senior management and bodies of authority.
- General management for the full spectrum of the contract that includes HR, Finance, Stock Management, Systems and Operations.
- Implement excellent customer service skills on contract
- Set up policy, procedures and negotiate contracts
To be successful in this role you will possess the following attributes: -
- Excellent all round man-manager
- Excellent knowledge of the logistics industry
- Commercial background and previous contracts management experience
- "Hands-on" manager
- Excellent communication skills are essential
- Customer focused/customer service
- Attention to detail and highly organised
- A CPC qualification would be a distinct advantage
