Contracts Manager, Reading

£30,000 to £40,000 per annum

As a Contracts Manager you will be responsible for managing and leading the commercial and contractual interaction with external suppliers and internal stakeholders across the significant contracts concerned.

Within the role you will:

- Take responsibility for the relevant contracts re commercial interaction, review meetings and negotiations with stakeholders and suppliers involved.
- Work closely with finance and project management teams to understand the budgets involved and ensure the delivery requirements are met to the agreed timescales.
- Develop processes and controls that ensure clear, auditable management of the contracts involved, including developing business compliance mechanisms and finance signoff of the costs involved.
- Oversee management of the termination and/or novation of contracts to the appointed organisations.
- Assist in representing the National Strategies in commercial discussions with suppliers.
- Any other procurement related duties commensurate with the level and areas of responsibility of the post.

Essential Experience and Skills:

- Degree level qualification or professional qualification at diploma level, or equivalent experience at a similar level in a large, complex organisation.
- Highly developed interpersonal skills in order to interact sensitively with the various stakeholders involved.
- Good analytical skills.
- Excellent numeracy skills and ability to reconcile spend to budgets and accounting procedures.
- Robust individual with a positive ‘hands - on’ attitude.
- Ideally MCIPS qualified or working towards achieving MCIPS Personal Attributes.
