Design Hotels™ offers honeymoon inspiration
Hotel branding company Design Hotels™ has announced three new honeymoon retreats.
Hotel branding company Design Hotels™ has announced three honeymoon retreats that offer something very special and just a little bit different.
Representing and marketing a hand-picked collection of more than 175 hotels in over 40 countries across the globe, the company offers specialist knowledge from conceptual branding through to market trend consultancy and international representation.
Despite being independently owned, the member hotels are united by a commitment to individuality, progressive design and cultural authenticity. The Design Hotels™ brand embodies the most advanced ideas in the hospitality industry and offer cosmopolitan travellers new options for both travel and inspiration.
The first honeymoon location is the AnaYela in Marrakech, Morrocco, a former Riad which when the hotel renovations began was found to be the setting of a historic love story. Incorporated into the design of the hotel, each room has a chapter inscribed on its walls – so honeymooners are literally living within the tale.
Those in need of even more romance can surprise their beloved one with their own written love story presented by a traditional Moroccan story teller or with a henna artist who paints the traditional wedding designs on the bride’s feet or hands.
Finally, couples can indulge in a romantic candle-light dinner on AnaYela’s “flying carpet” – a large roof terrace with a tower offering panoramic views of the historic city.
With its ideal location on Phuket’s finest shore on the Andaman Sea, The Chedi Phuket in Thailand is the gateway to a tropical island paradise and a perfect hideaway for honeymooners, and offers 108 thatched cottages under a canopy of coconut palms on landscaped slopes that descend to the beach.
Wedding stressed couples will be relentlessly indulged at The Spa Cottage with its four well-appointed indoor and outdoor treatment rooms and a plunge pool with sweeping ocean views, followed by a candle-light dinner on the beach, and exotic fruits and bed-strewn rose petals back at the room.
Finally, honeymooners might like to try the Turkish Riviera at Hillside Su, located on the shores of Antalya, where all-white architecture and furnishings act as blank canvases for injections of red, yellow, green or blue from multi-coloured light shows that set the tone for the whole Hillside honeymoon experience – lounging laziness and a taste for culinary indulgence.
Upon arrival, honeymooners are welcomed by a VIP airport transfer with strawberries and Prosecco on the way. Once at the hotel, they are greeted with an unusual surprise - a personal goldfish which they need to take care of!
With two outdoor teak terraces offering spectacular views of the sea and the outdoor pool area, the 9½ Weeks Suite (taking up the entire 9½ floor) is the ultimate honeymoon retreat. Couples can sink into the private Whirlpool Jacuzzi or enjoy the large plasma screen, flanked by two aquariums, which run along one side of the suite. The middle of the suite is taken over by a red and white billiards table, dining section and bar offering an incredible 100 products to sample.
