Holiday Inn brand relaunched
The new Holiday Inn logo unveiled as part of a global relaunch of the worlds largest hotel chain.
InterContinental Hotels Group (IHG) has announced the relaunch of its global Holiday Inn brand.
The hotel chain – incorporating Holiday Inn, Express by Holiday Inn and Holiday Inn Express – expects the new branding to generate significantly higher revenue per available room (RevPAR) and an enhanced return on investment for Holiday Inn owners.
Speaking at the conference where the news was announced, IHG’s Chief Executive Andrew Cosslett said: “This is an important moment in Holiday Inn’s history. The brand is the largest and one of the most successful in the hotel industry and its relaunch will ensure that this position is maintained.
“The Holiday Inn sign is seen by hundreds of millions of people every day around the world. The changes we are making will ensure the Holiday Inn brand goes forward into the future with a strong and confident new image.”
Holiday Inn was established in 1952. It now has 3,125 hotels around the world, with another 942 in the pipeline.
The first hotel will be re-branded and will open in the US in Spring 2008.
