Travelodge has revealed a list of the most bizarre items left behind by its customers in 2007 – including a pet Persian cat called Princess and a child.
The UK budget hotel chain has encountered numerous odd objects. Guy Parsons, Chief Operating Officer of Travelodge, said: “Each year our lost and found departments provide plenty of revelations. From a lucky charm Buddha to Bentley car keys, our customers’ ‘left behinds’ demonstrate what a cross section of people we serve. Whether they are making a quick stopover in one of our city hotels or a long weekend in the country, the property left behind can tell a million tales.”
Some of the most unusual items left behind in Travelodge’s hotel rooms include a blue glass eye, an urn of ashes, and a lucky charm Buddha necklace that the owner travelled all the way back from Dubai to claim because he was ‘experiencing bad luck without it’.
Electronic devices such as satellite navigation systems and laptops have increasingly appeared in Travelodge lost and found departments, and the most common top five objects left behind are mobile phones, clothes, hen and stag night accessories, books and toiletries.
Travelodge is the UK’s fastest-growing hotel company, and welcomes around six million customers every year.
