Chemical company Yaaparra Ltd has created a new tool to inform about the chemical ID of mankind - a ‘Human Race Identification Card’, to raise awareness of its fire-retardant products based on the “chemicals as inside us.”
It is a different type of ID card that does not discriminate between individuals because chemically all humans are made up of the same matter.
Yaaparra was established in September 2005 to market a Swedish fire retardant invention that derives fire retardancy from foodstuffs – chemicals in agreement with human chemistry.
The ID card aims to tell consumers not to fear chemicals in general but to discriminate between them to understand long term health risks and environmental impacts. “In-depth knowledge of human chemistry helps to create new products that present minimum risk,” says Yaaparra director Goeran Ulin.
With a product range including a bio mimetic fire retardant chemical inspired by processes in human metabolism - the citric acid cycle (Krebs cycle) – Yaaparra’s activities can be described as revolving around “chemicals as inside us”.
Tens of thousands of flammable consumer products contain fire retardant (FR) chemicals. Many different FR chemicals are used - some have been banned and many others are controversially linked to human health and product end-of-life issues.
This led Yaaparra to create the bio mimetic FR named “Molecular Heat Eater” (MHE), developed from the perspective of human metabolism. MHE is made of foodstuffs edible to humans - hence ‘evaluated by evolution’ = ‘future proof fire safety’.
