LCP announces new product candidate

LCP has announced a new product candidate with an immunosuppressant active ingredient, which may help with patients’ treatment after organ transplants.
LifeCycle Pharma (LCP), a new specialty pharmaceuticals company, has announced a new product candidate with the active ingredient Sirolimus – a new immunosuppressant that can be used for the prevention of organ rejection after transplantation.
Auto-immune diseases, such as Multiple Sclerosis and Rheumatoid Arthritis, have an immune response against their own cells and tissues. LCP-Siro, LCP’s new product candidate, can help in the treatment of certain auto-immune diseases, and also in the after-care for transplant patients to prevent transplanted organs being rejected by the body.
LCP believes that the drug will have increased bioavailability – the amount of the drug that enters the body’s system when taken by any method, other than the 100% when taken intravenously – and reduced dosing.
