AIDS leading cause of death amongst women

AIDS is the leading cause of death amongst women aged 15-49 says UNAIDS on the day it launches its framework in New York to help tackle the worldwide problem.


A leading scientist has claimed that HIV/AIDS has the potential to be wiped from society by 2050 if blanket AIDS tests are carried out and people treated immediately.


The 22-year US ban on immigration for those with HIV/AIDS has been lifted today, 4 January, under President Obama.


On World AIDS Day 2009, South Africa’s President Jacob Zuma has announced that the country will treat all babies under the age of one who test HIV positive.
