Profits fall 19% at luxury retailer Burberry

Luxury British fashion brand Burberry has reported its first half results today (17 November 2009), showing a fall in pre-tax profits of 19.6% compared with last year.


A special Armistice Day service was held at Westminster Abbey in London this morning (11 November), with the Queen leading the two-minute silence to remember the end of the First World War.


British workers will be first in line for UK jobs due to a Home Office initiative, which will ensure jobs are advertised in the UK for longer, before being offered overseas.
