Middle East tourism shows resilience

Hoteliers in the Middle East are outperforming the rest of the world according to data from STR Global, with the highest occupancy, average room rates and revPAR, in 2009.


International airline Emirates has experienced the busiest-ever recruitment day for cabin crew in Europe – around 400 applicants turned up to the airline’s recruitment drive in Madrid.


The world’s tallest building has been officially opened in Dubai, the Burj Khalifa, renamed after the President of the United Arab Emirates.


Swiss hotel group Mövenpick Hotels & Resorts is to create 2000 new jobs in Dubai as it opens four new hotels in the first quarter of 2010.
