Yuri Luzhkov Dismissed: Moscow Mayor Loses Power Struggle with Kremlin

It’s the end of an era for Moscow. The Russian capital’s powerful mayor, Yuri Luzhkov, was finally dismissed after 18 years in office. Luzhkov, who had ruled Moscow as his personal fiefdom, had “lost the trust” of the Kremlin.
